Hot Springs, Ark. - Behind a four-goal performance from Carley Garcia, the University of the Ozarks women's soccer team posted a dominant 6-0 victory over Champion Christian College on Monday.
Ozarks controlled the match offensively, recording 40 shots, including 30 shots on goal, while holding Champion Christian to just one shot and one shot on goal.
Genevieve Miller put the Eagles on the scoreboard, scoring once and adding an assist. Carley Garcia provided the offensive spark off the bench, scoring four times on six shots, all of which were on target. Garcia's memorable night saw her score in the 36th minute, 59th minute, 69th minute and 73rd minute.
Peyton Bolden also found the back of the net for Ozarks, while Caroline McCaslin, Addison Featherstone and Alessandra Aguilar each recorded assists. Aguilar finished with two assists.
Ozarks received contributions throughout its lineup, with Kynna Perry and Alessandra Aguilar each recording four shots. Miller added seven shots, with six on goal.
The Eagles' defense kept Champion Christian from generating sustained offensive pressure. Mica Garcia played the opening 45 minutes in goal, while Scarlet Tucker and Bridgette Truesdale combined for the second half. The Ozarks goalkeepers allowed no goals and recorded one save.
The Eagles will host Randall University on September 25 for Senior Day.
