Biography

2026: Named to the SCAC Academic Honor Roll. Named to the SCAC All-Conference Honorable Mention Team. Ranked third in the SCAC for home runs (8). Led the team in walks (36), on-base percentage (.461), runs (46), slugging percentage (.556), and home runs, while ranking third in hits (40) and batting average (.296). Tied for second in stolen bases (10) and triples (1). Started in all 40 games with 135 at-bats, including six doubles, while driving in 20 RBIs. Hit two home runs against Lyon. Defensively, recorded 81 putouts and three assists to finish the season with a .988 fielding percentage. 

2025: Ranked among the conference's top-10 in slugging percentage (.613), doubles (13), home runs (7), walks (30) and stolen bases (16). Childs finished with a .350 batting average, second highest on the team, and led the club with 33 RBI. He finished second on the team in runs with 33. He also had one triple and owned a .480 on-base percentage and 1.093 OPS. He tied a conference and school record with three home runs against Hendrix College April 22. He had 15 multiple-hit games and recorded three hits in five different games. 

2023: Named to the All-ASC Second Team. Was among the top freshman in the league ranking in the top-10 in home runs (9), slugging percentage (.670) and OPS (1.072). He hit .330 with nine doubles and 29 RBI. He also scored 22 runs and recorded 35 hits. For the season, he had 71 total bases and four stolen bases. Childs finished with ten multiple-hit games and drove in three or more runs six times. He homered three times in the Eagles series against East Texas Baptist and two times in the Sul Ross State series. In game two of each of those series, he homered twice and drove in four runs. 

Harleton HS: Hit .507 with 64 and 20 runs. Had 11 doubles with 28 RBI. Posted a 8-2 record on the mound. Named District Offensive MVP, All-East Texas outfielder, First Team All-State and THSBCA All-Star game. Helped team to second-place finish in district. Team was bi-district qualifiers.
