THE BASICS
Clarksville, Ark. – The Eagles won their third game in a row with a 62-49 victory over Howard Payne University Thursday night.
Naomi Smith had a monster game with 24 points, 19 rebounds and six assists. The Eagles held the lead from the midway point of the first quarter all the way until the end of the game. Smith had 12 points, six rebounds and three steals in the first half and the Eagles shot 57 percent from the three-point line during that span. The Eagles led 40-22 at halftime. The Eagles had over a 20-point lead for most of the third quarter and then held a double-digit lead all of the fourth quarter.
Destini Powell gave the Eagles a 23 point advantage in the third quarter and Smith gave the Eagles an 18 point lead at the 5:30 mark of the fourth quarter.
