THE BASICS
Richardson, Texas – UT Dallas handed the Eagles their second loss in as many tries with a 78-51 victory on Saturday. The Comets jumped out to a quick 21-9 first quarter lead and then went into halftime with a 40-17 advantage. The Eagles shot 23 precent in the first quarter and 20 percent in the second quarter. But the Eagles turned things around in the second half hitting 50 percent in the third quarter and then matching the Comets with 19 points in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, the Comets hit 51 percent in the game to hold off any comeback attempts. Naomi Smith led the Eagles with 16 points.
