THE BASICS
Clarksville, Ark. – Nationally-ranked Hardin-Simmons held a halftime lead and then built a big second half advantage to win 81-53 on Thursday. Early in the second quarter, Destini Powell hit a three-pointer to bring the Eagles to within 24-18. Hardin-Simmons then went on a 14-0 run to hold a 20-point lead. The Cowgirls would hit 52 percent from the field in the third quarter and 50 percent in the fourth quarter to make a comeback difficult for the Eagles.  Naomi Smith finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
