THE BASICS
Memphis, Tenn. – A late run by the Eagles wouldn't be enough as Belhaven University pulled out a 69-58 win on Saturday afternoon in Memphis at the Rhodes College Classic. The Eagles trailed 32-26 to begin the second half, but slowly inched closer as the half went on. After Belhaven's lead swelled to 19 points, the Eagles got to within 56-46 with 7:31 remaining on Justice Marmara's layup. Marmara's bucket was part of a 7-0 run to put the Eagles within striking distance. A couple of baskets from Belhaven put the lead at double digits again, but the Eagles eventually climbed within 62-56 at the 2:38 mark on Cedrick Dodd's shot. However, that would be as close as the Eagles could get. Marmara led the Eagles with 13 points. The Eagles were outrebounded 52-35 in the game and hit only 3-of-23 from the three-point line.
