THE BASICS
Batesville, Ark. - The Eagles overcame a five point deficit with two minutes remaining to pull out a 81-78 road win against Lyon College on Tuesday night. Lyon led 76-71 with 2:12 left in the game, but the Eagles got two points on a pair of free throws from
James Mathews.
Adam Lopez later hit a shot to cut the deficit to 76-75 at the 1:47 mark. After Lyon missed a shot on their next possession, the Eagles took the lead on another Lopez basket. Lyon answered with a bucket of their own to take the lead back with 35 ticks left. However,
Cedrick Dodd would score on a layup and the Eagles never relinquished the lead. The game was tied at 36-36 at halftime. The Eagles would hit eight three-pointers in the game.
Justice Marmara led the team with 23 points and eight rebounds. Dodd followed with 21 points, hitting a trio of three-pointers.
