THE BASICS
Jackson, Miss. – Millsaps College started strong and never let the Eagles back into the game as the Majors won 64-45 in the season-opener on Friday night. Millsaps would outscore the Eagles in each quarter and own a 45-30 rebound advantage in the game. At the half, Millsaps led 28-16. The Eagles hit 20 percent in the first half. Millsaps would come out in the third quarter and make 57 percent from the field. The Eagles could never cut the deficit to single digits in the second half.  Millsaps finished the game making 45 percent from the field while the Eagles shot less than 30 percent.
