THE BASICS
Clarksville, Ark. – The Eagles capped Senior Day with a huge upset win over nationally-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday. The Crusaders came into the game ranked No. 17 in the nation. The Eagles started strong outscoring the Crusaders 14-5 in the first ten minutes of action. The Crusaders battled back in the second quarter to take a 25-23 lead at halftime. The Crusaders then held the lead for most of the third quarter before the Eagles made a comeback in the fourth. Amanda Turpin started the fourth with a jumper and Heaven Hayden followed with a layup for a quick Eagles lead. The Crusaders cut it to one point on two occasions with less than three minutes to play, but the Eagles responded each time. Hayden hit a clutch layup with 37 seconds remaining to put the Eagles in front 56-53. Naomi Smith and Amanda Turpin each hit free throws down the stretch to secure the win. Smith finished with 17 points and ten rebounds. Turpin also had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

TURNING POINT
Leading 54-53 with less than a minute to go, Heaven Hayden made a clutch layup to put the Eagles in front by three points.

Seniors Heaven Hayden, Destini Powell and Amanda Turpin were honored in a Senior Day Celebration Ceremony after the big win.  

UP NEXT
The Eagles will travel to Texas to face East Texas Baptist February 15 and LeTourneau February 17 in the final regular season games of the season.
