THE BASICS
Clarksville, Ark. – With a 98-85 win over Austin College on Sunday, the Eagles have had its best start since the 1997-98 team, which opened the year 11-0. Today, the Eagles surpassed the 2000-01 team that went 9-3 in the first 12 games of the year. The Eagles were cruising on all cylinders Sunday leading for all but one possession and holding a double digit lead for the entire second half. The Eagles held a 43-28 halftime lead and never let the Kangaroos back into the game. The Eagles shot a solid 48 percent from the field in the game and all five starters reached double figures. The Eagles dominated inside scoring 58 points and grabbing 46 rebounds. Eric Gooden led the team with 21 points.
