Abby Beene wouldn't be enough as the Eagles fell 64-62 against University of St. Thomas on Friday night in Houston. Beene carried the Eagles with a career game as she poured in 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. St. Thomas led the entire game even though the Eagles lost by just two points. In the fourth,
Kelsey Ground drilled a clutch three-pointer around the three-minute mark to trim the deficit to 63-60.
Naomi Smith hit a shot to make it 64-62 with 1:48 remaining. The Eagles snagged a defensive rebound with 29 seconds left to have the opportunity to tie or take the lead. A missed shot led to an offensive rebound and the Eagles had one last chance with four seconds remaining. However, the Eagles were unable to get off a shot. Beene had ten points in the first quarter and would score 18 in the second half. She went 5-of-8 from the three-point line.

TURNING POINT
St. Thomas was able to avoid the Eagles tying or taking the lead late as Ozarks couldn't convert its final two shots with seconds to go.

Abby Beene poured in 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the loss. She went 13-of-18 from the field, and made five three-pointers bringing her total to 36 on the season. It was Beene's second double-double of the season.
