Clarksville, Ark. – The Eagles fell 3-0 (20-25, 22-25, 14-25) against in-state opponent Lyon College on Dig Pink Breast Cancer Awareness night. 

In the first set, Lyon opened with a commanding 10-4 lead before the Eagles pulled within 15-11. A kill by Arianna Gomez started a 3-0 rally for the Eagles making the score 21-19. But Lyon would win four of the next five points to secure the set.

The Eagles played a much stronger set two leading 8-7 early on. But Lyon responded with eight straight points to move in front 15-8. However, the Eagles wouldn't go down easily as another kill by Gomez started a 3-0 run. The Eagles then scored four consecutive points to even the match at 20-20. Lyon scored two points in a row and the Eagles did the same to make it 22-22. But Lyon scored the final three points of the set to clinch a 25-22 win.

In set three, the Eagles opened with an 8-7 lead only to have Lyon score eight straight times. Lyon again pushed forward with four straight points to make it 23-13 and the Eagles couldn't catch up.

Brooke Humphrey had ten kills and Lauralai Bradley had 14 digs.

The Eagles will host Hendrix College on Saturday in conference play.
