Seguin, Texas – The Eagles gave everything on the court against Schreiner University but fell in the match 3-0 on Sunday.
The Eagles began the game by receiving strong fast-paced offenses from Schreiner and hit 0.037 in the opening frame. However, despite key defensive stands, the Eagles dropped the set 25-17.
During the second set, the Eagles became stronger and performed a more aggressive attack and ball control. Arianna Gomez and Brooke Humphrey led the way at the net by combining several kills and supported the Eagles, but ultimately fell 25-22.
In the final set, Schreiner won 25-14, but the Eagles showed strong effort on defense especially from the back where they were alert in digging the attacks.
As a team, the Eagles finished with 23 kills and 98 total attacks. Arianna Gomez had ten kills and nine digs, Brooke Humphrey nine kills and 12 digs, and Jillian Childs nine assists.
The Eagles will travel to Conway to be back on the court against Hendrix College on Saturday, October 11, at 11:00 a.m.
