THE BASICS
Clarksville, Ark. – Southwestern University had a big third quarter to upend the Eagles 62-50 on Friday night. Both teams shot below 30 percent in the first quarter, but the Eagles shot an improved 40 percent from the field in the second quarter. The Eagles led 26-23 at halftime behind its strong second quarter. In the third quarter, the Pirates moved ahead 45-36 as the Eagles only scored eight points over ten minutes. The Eagles made it close early in the fourth quarter only to have the Pirates slowly build a lead that would secure the game. It was a tough shooting night for both teams as the Eagles hit 64 percent from the free throw line while Southwestern hit 54 percent. Abby Beene paced the Eagles with 14 points.  

TURNING POINT
Southwestern turned a halftime deficit into a lead in the third quarter outscoring the Eagles 22-10.

TIP-INS
Lili Garcia hit both of her three-point attempts to increase her season total to five.
