THE BASICS
Clarksville, Ark. – The Eagles had trouble getting their offense going as Webster University handed the home team a 76-64 setback Saturday afternoon. Webster jumped out to a 15-2 lead and then built a 34-18 lead with less than five minutes to play in the first half. Webster hit 47 percent from the field in the first half while the Eagles made 7-of-32 (21%). Webster's lead ballooned to 26 points at the midway point of the second half before
Vanya Nikolic hit five consecutive three-pointers to ignite the Eagles. However, it was a little too late as Webster had built a big lead. The Eagles outscored Webster 38-34 in the second half. Nikolic finished with a team-high 16 points.
Jaxon Hand hit 5-of-10 from the three-point line to score 15 points.
TURNING POINT
Webster jumped on the Eagles early building a 19-4 advantage at the midway point of the first half and never slowed down.
TIP-INS
Freshman guard
Vanya Nikolic came off the bench late in the game and nailed four straight three-pointers to spark the Eagles. He finished with 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the three-point line.
