THE BASICS
St. Louis, Mo. – The Eagles let a 10-point lead slip away as Westminster College hit over 50 percent from the field in the second half to pull out a 63-58 come-from-behind win on Friday at the Webster University Classic. The Eagles built a 30-20 advantage at intermission behind a 9-0 run to end the half. The Eagles held the lead for about the first five minutes of the second half, but Westminster took a 43-36 advantage at the 11:22 mark.
DJ Miller's bucket with 8:38 tied the score, 45-45. Westminster eventually built a seven-point lead around the five-minute mark.
Vanya Nikolic drilled a three-pointer with 1:04 remaining in the game to trim the deficit to 59-56. However, Westminster made a pair of clutch free throws with 24 seconds left to make it 61-56.
Adam Lopez would hit an inside shot to bring the Eagles within 61-58, but Westminster again hit two free throws with 17 seconds left and the Eagles wouldn't score again.
Vanya Nikolic hit 7-of-13 from the three-point line to lead the Eagles with 22 points. Lopez posted a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

Westminster hit four clutch free throws in the final 25 seconds to keep the Eagles from a win.
