Sherman, Texas - The Eagles went on the road to play matches against Austin College and No. 1 East Texas Baptist University on Saturday in Texas.
Austin College took a 3-0 win (25-10, 25-20, 25-11) while East Texas Baptist took a 3-0 win (25-11, 25-11, 25-26).
The Eagles lost the first set 25-10. In the second set, the Eagles held an early lead but couldn't maintain the advantage eventually falling 25-20. The Eagles last set against the Kangaroos ended with an 25-11 score after receiving several attacks and kills.
In total, the Eagles had 17 kills and 101 total attacks. Brooke Humphrey had nine kills. Lauralai Bradley had 17 digs. Alyssa Carlisle had nine assists.
Against the No. 1 team in NCAA III, the Eagles fell in the first set 25-11. In the second set, the Tigers kept up the dominance, but the Eagles brought strong offensive efforts from Gomez. However, the Tigers took a 25-11 win. In set three, the Eagles remained resilient as Humphrey and Gomez contributed to multiple kills, but the Tigers won 25-16.
Arianna Gomez had 10 kills and three digs. Brooke Humphrey had six kills and two aces. Gabby Dotson had seven assists.
The Eagles will end the regular season against University of Dallas on November 9 at 1 p.m. in Irving, Texas.
