Game One Overview
Clarksville, Ark. – The Eagles' late inning rally came up just short as No. 8 Trinity University slipped past the home team 11-10 in game one on Friday. Trinity opened with two runs in the first and another in the second. In the bottom of the fifth, Britton Smith blasted a solo home run and Conner Reed followed with a single, but Trinity later threw him out and then got a fly out to end the scoring threat. Trinity added two runs in the top of the sixth to lead 7-3. In the bottom of the sixth, the Eagles had two runners on base and one out. Trinity got a strikeout for the second out, however, Langdon Townsend ripped a two-run single to left field to bring the Eagles within 7-5. Trinity took advantage of a two-out error to increase the lead to 10-5 in the seventh. The Eagles didn't go away as three runners were on base with no outs in the bottom half of the frame. Following an out, Rene Garcia drove in a run with a single and Joseph Coon drove in another run with a double to make it 10-7. With the bases loaded, Smith drew a walk to score one making it 10-8 at the end of seven. Trinity came back to load the bases the next inning, but relief pitcher Darren Crane struck out the side to end the threat. In the bottom of the ninth, the Eagles got the lead-off runner on base and then Trinity committed an error to put two runners on base.  Smith drew another walk and the Eagles still had no outs. Reed had an infield single for an RBI to bring it to 11-10. However, Trinity induced a double play ball to end the game. The Eagles outhit the Tigers 18-14. Four Eagles had multiple-hit games. Garcia went a perfect 5-for-5. Reed went 3-for-6, Ben Matos went 3-for-5 and Townsend went 3-for-5.

Game Two Overview
The Eagles lost another close game, 6-3, as Trinity ended the game on a ground ball double play for the second straight contest. Taber Childs tied the game 1-1 with an RBI single in the first. It took several innings, but the Eagles eventually made things interesting in the bottom of the ninth. Trailing 6-1, the Eagles scored on a Matos RBI single. The Eagles then loaded the bases with no outs. Garcia had a sacrifice RBI to bring it to 6-3. A hit by pitch loaded the bases for the Eagles, but Trinity once again induced a ground ball double play to end it. The Eagles totaled ten hits with Matos, Childs and Smith each recording two hits. Starting pitcher Jake Dempsey fanned five batters while relief pitcher Landon Massey struck out six.
