Shreveport, La. - The Eagles battled with Centenary College on Sunday in conference play and took 3-1 loss on the road.
The Eagles lost set one, 25-23, but came back in set two to win 25-21. In set three, Centenary won 25-21 and then secured the match 25-22 in set four.
In the first set, the Eagles led late 23-22 only to have Centenary win three straight points. In the second set, the Eagles led the entire way. In set three, the Eagles made a valiant run late cutting it to 24-21, but came up short in the end. In the final set, the Eagles held a 22-20 advantage, but Centenary was able to rally for five straight points to secure the match.
Arianna Gomez had 26 kills.
Lauralai Bradley had 19 digs. Gomez had 13 digs to record a double-double.
Jillian Childs also had 13 digs.
Alyssa Carlisle had 17 assists and Childs had 15.
The Eagles will now prepare for three SCAC matches in Seguin, Texas, October 4-5. The Eagles will face Concordia University Texas and Texas Lutheran University on Saturday and Schreiner University on Sunday.
