THE BASICS
Clarksville, Ark. – The Eagles opened conference play with a 69-62 loss against Hendrix College on Friday night after the Warriors mounted a second half comeback. The Eagles put up a strong performance in the first half hitting 57 percent from the field and building a 38-26 lead at halftime. The Eagles maintained the lead for the first seven minutes of the second half before the Warriors took momentum. With the score tied 48-48 at the 10:31 mark, the Warriors went on a 7-0 run. Eyal Shamri three-pointer to tie the game, 55-55, with less than five minutes remaining. At the two-minute mark, the game was tied, but Hendrix reeled off a 11-4 run to close out the game. Shamri poured in 28 points to lead the Eagles in scoring. He hit 3-of-5 from the three-point line and 10-of-15 overall from the field.
TURNING POINT
Hendrix College closed out the game with an 11-4 run in the final two minutes to secure the conference opener for both teams.
TIP-INS
Eyal Shamri used his versatility to score 28 points to lead the Eagles. Shamri has been able to score on long-distance shots as well as driving to the basket. He has averaged 26.3 points the last three games.
