THE BASICS
Irving, Texas – The Eagles used a 10-0 run to open the third quarter en route to a 69-52 conference win Tuesday night in Irving, Texas against University of Dallas. The Crusaders held a six point advantage after the first quarter, but the Eagles fought back and scored 19 second quarter points. Lila Hartness hit a pull-up jumper with six seconds left in the first half to tie the game 31-31. Both teams shot well from the three-point line in the first half, with the Eagles making 60 percent while Dallas made 58 percent. The Eagles out scored the Crusaders 19-7 in the third quarter thanks to an 8-of-11 effort from the field and a 10-0 run to start. In the fourth, Dallas battled back and cut it to 52-44. But the Eagles responded with an Abby Beene three-pointer and a Kennedi Wight jumper. And over two minutes later, the Eagles pushed the lead to 65-45. For the game, the Eagles shot 48 percent from the field while holding Dallas to 24 percent. Kennedi Wight led the Eagles with 14 points. 

TURNING POINT
The Eagles opened the third quarter with an 10-0 run to set the tone the rest of the game.

TIP-INS
Kennedi Wight had 14 points and nine rebounds in the win. Wight has pulled down five or more rebounds 11 times this season.

UP NEXT
The Eagles will host LeTourneau University February 6 and Centenary College February 7. Saturday's game against Centenary will be Senior Day for the Eagles.
