St. Thomas Wins Game Three

Clarksville, Ark. - St. Thomas used a big seventh inning to pull away and defeat the Eagles 9-2 on Saturday afternoon at Lonnie Qualls Field to win the series.

St. Thomas broke a close game open with a five-run seventh inning, turning a 4-1 lead into a commanding advantage. Ozarks was unable to recover after being held to just five hits on the day.

The visitors struck first in the second inning with RBI singles to take a 2-0 lead.

The Eagles got on the board in the bottom of the sixth when Connor Reed reached on an error, allowing Taber Childs to score. However, St. Thomas responded emphatically in the seventh inning to cap a five-run outburst and push the lead to 9-1.

Joseph Coon provided a late highlight for Ozarks with a solo home run in the eighth inning, but the deficit proved too large to overcome.

Ozarks drew seven walks but struggled to capitalize, leaving 14 runners on base in the game.

St. Thomas finished with 13 hits compared to five for Ozarks, capitalizing on key opportunities—especially in the decisive seventh inning—to secure the conference win.

The Eagles will host Schreiner University April 2-3.
