Clarksville, Ark. – Four members of University of the Ozarks baseball team received recognition from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, the league office announced Friday (May 1).

Rene Garcia and senior outfielder
Langdon Townsend were all named to the All-Conference Honorable Mention Team.
Childs, a native of Marshall, Texas, ranked second in the SCAC with nine home runs and sixth in NCAA III in walks (37). He owned a team best .556 slugging percentage while leading the team with 46 runs. A starter in all 40 games, Childs had six doubles, one triple and 20 RBI. He finished the season hitting .296 and owning a team best .461 on-base percentage. He opened the season with a six-game hit streak, hitting .454 over that stretch. He had a pair of three-hit games and hit safely in 30 of 40 games. He homered twice against Lyon College. He already ranks third at Ozarks with 25 career home runs.
Ellison, a native of Danville, ranked fifth in the SCAC in doubles with 13 while ranking among the team's top-5 in nearly every offensive category. He drove in 31 and collected 45 hits while batting .317. He posted a .507 slugging percentage and a .416 on-base percentage. He also had four home runs and scored 30 times. He hit safely in 28 game and had a pair of four-hit games, totaling ten multiple-hit games. He owned a nine game hit streak during the season and had three hits with a homer, two doubles and seven RBI against Lyon College. He had back-to-back four RBI games and finished with eight hits and ten RBI in the LeTourneau series.
Garcia, a native of Cypress, Texas, tied for the team lead with two triples. Garcia had 22 hits and six steals to go along with 11 RBI and 13 runs. He had a three-hit game to end the season and had four other two-hit games. He had a triple, two runs and three RBI against LeTourneau.
Townsend, a native of Bellville, Texas, ranked second in the SCAC with 24 steals, a new program record at Ozarks. He ranked sixth in the SCAC in home runs with five. Townsend was the team leader in RBI with 34. He recorded two triples, six doubles and owned a .466 slugging percentage. His 24 stolen bases ranked him among the top-20 in NCAA III. He had 36 hits with 21 runs and finished with a .275 average. He drove in four runs in three different games and ended the season with seven multiple-hit games. He hit safely in 27 games. He homered, doubled, recorded three hits and drove in three runs against McMurry. In the McMurry series, he had six hits and eight RBI. He finishes his career with 17 home runs, eighth-most in program history.
