Memphis, Tenn. - The University of the Ozarks volleyball team opened the 2026 season at the Rhodes College Tournament on Friday and came up short in a three-set decision, 3-0, against the Lynx.
The Eagles recorded 25 kills on 88 attacks and hit .148 as a team. The Eagles also finished with 24 assists, seven service aces, seven blocks and 42 digs.
Brooke Humphrey led the Eagles offensively with nine kills on 33 attacks while adding a service ace, two blocks and seven digs. Emerson Corbin was highly efficient at the net, recording six kills on 12 attacks for a .417 hitting percentage.
Caylie Apperson contributed three kills and two blocks, while Claire Zeiler added two kills. Gabby Dotson directed the offense with 11 assists and also collected nine digs. Lauralai Bradley added two assists and 10 digs.
The Eagles dropped a four-set decision, 3-1, to Lyon College in their second match of the day.
The Eagles finished the match with 35 kills on 130 attacks and a .077 hitting percentage. Ozarks also recorded 34 assists, six service aces, 15 blocks, two block assists and 69 digs.
Claire Zeiler led the Eagles with eight kills on 18 attacks while hitting .222. She also contributed two assists, one ace and one block. Emerson Corbin added seven kills on 22 attacks and hit .227, while Brooke Humphrey finished with six kills and a team-high 11 digs.
Caylie Apperson provided five kills and a team-best .250 hitting percentage, along with one ace and four blocks. Emma Taylor chipped in four kills, while Madesyn Monroe also recorded four kills.
At the service line, Gabby Dotson recorded a team-high five aces while directing the Ozarks offense with 14 assists. Dotson also collected nine digs. Madison Widmayer paced the Eagles with 12 digs, while Lauralai Bradley added 10.
The Eagles will take on Mary Hardin-Baylor September 12 in Memphis.
