GAME ONE
Overview:
The Eagles completed a three-game sweep against McMurry University Saturday with a wild 13-12 win in 11 innings. Trey Vance knocked in Rey Lozano from second base for the game-winning run. Vance singled through the right side of the infield to allow the speedy Lozano to score and send the Eagles into a celebration. Both teams went through four pitchers with Josh Craven receiving the win after tossing the final four frames. The Eagles recorded 18 hits and five Eagles had multi-hit games. Lozano finished 5-for-6 with four runs and Rennie Arjona went 4-for-7 with three runs. Brooks Boshers finished 3-for-6 while Josh Stephens and Chase Edwards had two hits apiece. McMurry led 4-0 before the Eagles plated four runs in the third. The Eagles took a 11-6 lead in the sixth to take control of the game, but McMurry battled back to score twice in the seventh and four times in the eighth to take the lead back. The Eagles totaled seven hits in the sixth with Josh Stephens and Sam Silvestri recording two-run singles. Luke Morrison had a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth to even the game 12-12 and send the thriller into extra innings.
