Clarksville, Ark. – The University of the Ozarks Eagles faced a tough challenge against the No. 8-ranked Trinity University Tigers, ultimately falling 7-5 on Saturday afternoon. Despite a valiant effort, the Eagles couldn't overcome the Tigers' consistent offense.

Trinity (19-5) established an early lead, scoring two runs in the first inning. The Tigers added another run in the third, extending their advantage to 3-0. Ozarks (7-13) responded in the bottom of the third when Logan Townsend hit a solo home run, cutting the deficit to 3-1.
In the fourth inning, the Eagles rallied to tie the game.
Britton Smith drew a walk and advanced on a single by
Taber Childs. A sacrifice bunt by
Rene Garcia moved the runners into scoring position.
Joseph Coon then hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Smith.
Michael White followed with a groundout that brought home Childs, leveling the score at 3-3.
The Tigers answered back in the fifth with two runs and added another in the sixth, taking a 6-3 lead. The Eagles narrowed the gap in the seventh when Brandon Matos hit an RBI single, making it 6-4.
Trinity added an insurance run in the eighth. In the bottom half,
Collin May singled and later scored on a groundout by
Michael White, bringing the score to 7-5. However, the Eagles couldn't muster further offense in the final innings.
