Game One Overview
Clarksville, Ark. – The University of St. Thomas pitching staff limited the Eagles to two hits in a 12-2 game one win. The Celts loaded the bases with one out in the top of the third and then hit a grand slam with two outs to take a 4-0 lead. It was the Celts only hit up to that point. Starting pitchers
Jake Dempsey and Jacob Mead were both dealing allowing a combined four hits through six innings. Mead had nine strikeouts at that point and Dempsey registered five. In the bottom of the sixth, Ben Matos drew a walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Matos ended up at third, but there were two outs and Mead finished the threat with a strikeout. Dempsey did not allow an earned through five innings. St. Thomas would add three runs in the seventh to make it 8-0. The Eagles did load the bases in the seventh with one out and
Rene Garcia drew a walk to push across the Eagles first run of the game.
Conner Reed had an RBI on his fielder's choice for the Eagles final run of the game.
Game Two Overview
Jake Estrada pitched a three-hit nine-inning complete game to lead the Eagles to a 5-1 win in Friday's nightcap. The Eagles scored first on an error in the second frame and then
Langdon Townsend smashed a two-run homer to put the Eagles in front 3-0. In the third,
Taber Childs doubled in
Rene Garcia, and in the fourth, the Eagles scored another run on an error to bring the score to 5-0. Estrada used his 90-mph fastball to keep the Celts off balance all night. The Celts had a hit in the third and two in the fifth against Estrada. He finished his dominant performance by retiring the side in the ninth. The junior right-hander had eight strikeouts and limited the Celts to just two walks. He was not charged with an earned run. Townsend paced the Eagles with a 3-for-3 performance at the plate.

The Eagles will wrap up their series against University of St. Thomas tomorrow at noon. Senior Day will be held prior to the game.
