Conway, Ark. - Hendrix used a fast start and consistent offensive pressure Sunday afternoon to defeat Ozarks 11–3 in game three of SCAC play at Warrior Field.
Hendrix plated three runs in the opening inning and never relinquished control, finishing with 14 hits and 10 RBIs in the conference victory. The Warriors struck immediately in the first inning with RBI to take a 3–0 lead. Ozarks responded in the second when
Brett Burks delivered an RBI triple before scoring on a throwing error, trimming the deficit to 3–2. Hendrix answered quickly with a run in the second and a two-run single in the third to extend the margin to 6–2. A defensive miscue in the fourth allowed another Warrior run to score, pushing the advantage to five.
Burks provides offensive spark
Burks continued to be the offensive catalyst for Ozarks, recording two triples and driving in both earned Eagle runs. His second RBI triple in the seventh plated
Joseph Coon and cut the Hendrix lead to 7–3.
Warriors pull away late
Hendrix created separation in the late innings with a four-run surge across the seventh and eighth frames. RBI singles highlighted a two-run seventh before an RBI triple and a run-scoring single capped the scoring at 11–3.
