Gabriel Ellison Hits Grand Slam, Records Seven RBI Against Lyon College

Clarksville, Ark. — A dominant two-inning surge powered the University of the Ozarks baseball team to a convincing 15–3 victory over Lyon College on Tuesday afternoon in game two.

Ozarks (6-5) wasted no time setting the tone, erupting for eight runs in the opening frame. Taber Childs sparked the offense with a leadoff homer before Connor Reed followed with a two-run blast. Brett Burks added a sacrifice fly, and Gabriel Ellison capped the inning with a bases-clearing double to push the Eagles ahead 8–0. The Eagles continued their offensive onslaught in the second inning, plating seven more runs. A Lyon error brought home the first run before a hit batter and walk extended the margin. Ellison delivered the knockout blow, launching a grand slam to left field that stretched the advantage to 15–0. Lyon (3-2) broke through in the fourth on a solo home run and added two runs in the sixth, but the early deficit proved insurmountable. Ozarks capitalized on 11 walks, three Lyon errors, and three home runs while scoring all 15 runs in the first two innings.
