Dempsey Tosses Another Complete Game Win

Clarksville, Ark. - The Eagles split Saturday's double-header against University of Dallas losing game one but coming back in game two to earn the win.

The Eagles wasted no time taking control and rode a dominant complete-game effort from Jake Dempsey to a 6-2 win over Dallas in game two.

The Eagles broke things open early with a four-run first inning. RBI contributions from Langdon Townsend and Rene Garcia, along with a bases-loaded walk by Matthew McDonald and a passed ball, quickly put Dallas in a 4-0 hole.

The Eagles added two more in the second—one scoring on a double play and another on Joseph Coon's RBI single—to extend the lead to 6-0.

Dallas didn't get on the board until the third inning when Luke Gill launched a solo home run to center field. The Crusaders added one more in the eighth on a double-play ball that brought home Dylan Goddard, but that was as close as they would get.

Dempsey was sharp throughout, going the distance while allowing two runs on eight hits and striking out seven. He kept Dallas from stringing together big innings.

Key Performers: Takeaway:
Ozarks' early offensive burst proved decisive, and Dempsey's steady outing ensured Dallas never mounted a serious comeback.

Game One
Dallas used timely power hitting and a strong outing on the mound to take down Ozarks 6-3 in the first game of the day.

The Crusaders struck first in the third inning on a solo home run to right field. They then broke the game open in the fifth, highlighted by Luke Gill's three-run homer, which capped a four-run frame and pushed the lead to 5-0.

The Eagles chipped away late, beginning with a sacrifice fly from Connor Reed in the sixth. Joseph Coon added an RBI single in the seventh, and Jacob Knox doubled in a run in the eighth, but the Eagles couldn't overcome the early deficit.

Key Performers: The Eagles and Crusaders finish their series Sunday with a single game beginning at noon.
