Julie (Richardson) Bernard established herself among the elite women's tennis players in program history. Bernard was a four-time All-Conference performer, earning American Southwest Conference (ASC) All-East Division First Team accolades in 2000 and 2003. She was ASC All-East Division Second Team in 2001 and 2002. Her senior season, she was named University of the Ozarks Female Athlete of the Year. That season, she led the team to the conference playoffs. Also a standout in the classroom, Bernard was a three-time ASC All-Academic Team member. Serving as a team captain all four years, Bernard was voted the 2003 ASC Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year. She owns the most career singles wins in program history with 25. She ranks third in program history in most career doubles wins with 19.
